Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness has become a vital part of everyone's lives in recent years.  Regardless of the type of emergency, no one can fully anticipate what may happen, however, individuals can prepare and educate themselves, families, friends, and surrounding neighbors to better respond to an emergency that may occur.

First, we must learn and educate ourselves about the types of threats and disasters that we need to prepare ourselves for.  If we do not know about them, then we cannot prepare for them.  Second, we need to take the steps in preparing for what could happen.  What is "the plan"?  Do we have an emergency kit?

The Cayuga County Department of Health wants to educate the community on the types of common, more localized emergencies as well as other types of threats and how to prepare yourself, family, friends, and surrounding neighbors.
