The STOPPED program
benefits all those interested in
participating in Cayuga County.
The purpose of the program is to instill
responsibility in young drivers through
identification.
This is a collaborative effort teaming parents
with the police to curtail illegal and dangerous
activity often associated with inexperienced
drivers between the ages of 16 and 21.
The statistics concerning young drivers
involved in serious injury and fatal motor
vehicle accidents are a glaring example of
why we must act now.
The Cayuga County Sheriff offers this
voluntary notification system to parents with
the help of the Independent Insurance
Agents and Brokers of Central New York
who provided initial funding.
The success of the STOPPED program
has been made possible by:
Cayuga County Deputy Sheriffs
Benevolent Association
Independent Insurance Agents
and Brokers of Central New York
Cayuga County Stop DWI Committee
Cayuga County Traffic Safety Committee
Auburn Police
Moravia Police
NYSP Troop E
Port Byron Police
Weedsport Police
Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh
