A Public Hearing was held at the Village Hall, 8892 South Street, on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Rich Cunningham with Thoma Development explained this was the second of two required public hearings to seek public input in the application process for funding under the Federal Small Cities Community Development Program. This program is to rehabilitate owner occupied, substandard, single family, owner occupied housing in the Village. The estimated total grant being applied for is $400,000.
Mr. Cunningham informed those present that 286 residents responded with the surveys and there are currently 75 households meet the income level to apply for the assistance.
It was asked if letters would be sent to those homes that were not eligible. The Board stated they would take this under consideration.
Trustee Lukins made the motion to close the public hearing and to approve the following resolution, seconded by Trustee Swim, all present voted aye.
RESOLVED:
That the Village of Weedsport is hereby authorized and directed to file an application fro funds from the New York State Office of Community Renewal under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2010, in an amount not to exceed $400,000; to authorize the Mayor of the Village of Weedsport to sign said application on behalf of the Village; and upon approval of said request to enter into and execute a project agreement with the State for such financial assistance to the Village of Weedsport.
Trustee Lukins made the motion, second by Trustee Swim, all aye, to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m.
